Chott Marathon Xtreme

Netfa and Tozeur oasis, welcome this program of sports tourism, the vast palm plantation, hiking in mountain oasis of Tamerza and Mides and the great magic that surround these places are the ingredients for this special long weekend in Africa . The race is unique and for this reason is appreciate from the marathon lover . A marathon with strong feelings, called extreme because it is the only marathon in the world in a salt lake, the Chott El Jerid about 2500 square km of extention between the mythical oasis of Tozeur and Nefta in the south-west of Tunisia.
Important new features of this 7th edition is the start, will be early in the morning around 4.00 a.m. even in the dark, after short time the color change, giving space to the sunrise in the Chott, a true spectacle. The sun column reflected on the white crust of salt and turns with his reflexes this unique environment will be a unique experience that will make even more "Xtreme" this program .

Si tratta di un progetto che unisce una serie di gare podistiche ad un comune denominatore, l’Africa.
Infatti “Africa to Run” è una sorta di contenitore che raccoglie alcune gare, diverse tra loro, che hanno però in comune di essere corse nel continente che maggiormente unisce la natura, i colori, i grandi spazi e le forti emozioni, il continente africano.
Negli anni sono diventati ben 4 gli appuntamenti africani, dalle più semplici mezze maratone e maratone, corse nel lago salato del Chott El Djerid e nella savana del Senegal, alle ultramaratone a tappe nel deserto corse nel Sahara o in Namibia.
