Important new features in this race for the 7th edition, the departure will be early in the morning and participants will live the sunrise in the Chott preceded by the soft colors of 'dawn
The first km of the race will take place even in the dark, will be an unforgettable experience, see the many small lights, from the head lamp that mark the way,of the competitors in the race, and those of small chemical lights applied to the back of the runners capable of transforming themselves into the runners' “balises light "warning for those who follow in the first kilometers of the race.
The first dawn and the sunrise later, totally will change the environment and the race itself, the sun will rise slowly and when its heat could start to create problems, the race will have reached its term. The test is on two distances, the classical marathon of 42,195 km and half marathon of 21.097 km.
For the marathon the start and the finish will be directly at the Hotel gate, and either the first exit km from the oasis that the latest arrival, will be in the largest palm plantation of Nefta, the remaining 30 km will be covered on the surface of salt Chott that occurs normally smooth and compact, sometimes harder or more softer, but usually well corribile, and only in special conditions unlikely of the path route could be taken including any radical changes in asphalt.
The half marathon will have a shorter path, but with the same characteristics, ca.fifteen k in the Chott and the remaining will be inside the oasis, close to arrival at the hotel.
Water points will be three in the marathon, with water, tea, biscuits and dates, while for the half marathon, there will be only one point of water. For all the runners in the marathon will be REQUIRED to run with a reserve of at least half a liter of water. Will marked the km 10, 20, 30 and 40 of the marathon.
The course will be marked with illuminated signs, flags high visibility and tables, along the route are expected check points, assistance is guaranteed through quads bike from the organization, and the medical care is by an Italian doctor
The maximum time in Marathon is set in 7 hours, in the half marathon there is not time limit unless interventions towards the race director, participants entered the competition will receive the detailed regulation.
