Reglement
Art. 1 ORGANISATION
The organisation is provided by Zitoway Sport & Adventure of Modena takes care of the sport and logistic organisation and Melville Born to Run travel agency provides for the exclusive distribution of the race “Chott Marathon Xtreme” from 30th of September to 3rd October 2010 in Tunisia.
Art. 2 DEFINITION OF THE RUN
The “Chott Marathon Xtreme” is an outdoor foot race of Km 42.195 and Km 21.097not homologated for the distance. It is an amatory race, with final classification, not connected to any circuit of agonistic walking-race competitions for professional runners or recognized by official federations.

Art. 3 ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS
Enrolment in the race is seen as acceptance of the present regulations in any form and amendments on the part of the competitors.
Art. 4 CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT
The competitors must be above the age of majority, of either sex. They must also present a valid medical certificate from a sports medical centre, together with proof of effort attesting to the suitability of the participant to take part in the race, which provides for the sport medical examination. All participants must sign a consent form, absolving the organisation of any responsibility. Only in the Marathon it is mandatory to take at least 0,5 (half) litre of water and one chemical light to place on the back of the body.

There will be two official categories:

Art. 6 VERIFICATION
All certificates, documents and compulsory materials will be checked on Thursday September 30. At the end of this verification, bib numbers will be consigned, which must be worn throughout the race and must not be cut or modified in any way, always showing their trademarks.
Art. 7 THE RACE
The start time of the race will be announced in group at fixed agreed hour, after the technical briefing. During the Marathon there will be only 3 rest stops, only one for the Half Marathon . Dropping litter along the path will result in immediate exclusion from the race. The time of each competitor will be taken at rest stops. These passages may be verified even at check-points without refreshment.
Art. 8 THE ROUTE
The entire route will be marked by the organisation by signals agreed upon (high visibility flag, chemical lights.). Competitors are obliged to follow this route, otherwise there will be the disqualification from the race. Only along the route assistance and recovery for the competitors will be granted.
Art. 9 CLIMATE AND TERRAIN
In October the average temperature in the region is forecast at 38° degrees Celsius in the hottest hours of the day, but variability is total. Besides, the race start at dawn will permit to run with acceptable temperatures.
The race route is uniform, compact and beaten ground in prevalence where run will be easy.
The organisation reserves the right to modify the tracing of the same race for climatic conditions.
Art. 10 ABANDONING THE RACE
In case of definitive abandonment, the competitor must immediately communicate his or her decision to the commission and hand the bib number.
Art. 11 MAXIMUM TIME
The maximum time is 7 hours from the marathon et 4 hours for the half marathon, exact moment of the race start.
Art. 12 CLASSIFICATION
The time of each competitor shall be counted in hours, minutes and seconds.
The lack of control of the passages will give the application of a penalty decided by the race direction.
Art. 13 MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
There will be medical assistance throughout the race that will be conditioned by the environment characteristics. The competitors participate under their own responsibility and the organisation cannot in any way be held responsible for accidents, falls or illness during the run. Competitors cannot prevail over third-party even in case of contact or accident caused by a third-party.
Art. 14 INSURANCE
The organisation is not required to provide insurance for any civil risk and is relieved of any responsibility for accidents, death or damage faced by athletes during the race.
Art. 15 COPYRIGHT
All the rights of use of the images of the “Chott Marathon Xtreme” are exclusive to the organisers.
All photographs, videos or films taken during the race may not be used by the competitors except for private use, unless special permission has been granted.
Art. 16 PRIZES
Cups and plates will be awarded to the 3 winners in each category. Special prizes will be issued at the discretion of the organisation.
Each competitor to reach the finish line will be issued with a memory medal.
Art. 17 RIGHTS OF THE ORGANISATION
The Director the race has the right to intervene and modify, at his own will, all points connected to the development of the race, the route, the kilometres due to the climatic conditions, or for both security and technical reasons.
